Transplant Introduction

Fortunately, advances in medical science have made transplants possible for patients with both living (liver, kidney, pancreas, lung, intestine), and cadaver donors. Unfortunately, as known to every transplant patient, there is a dearth of donors for all kidneys and livers. Patients with living donors have no wait in Europe. International patients, who need cadaver donors, have no significant wait in China, which can be arranged by our team.

The need for transplants are clearly shown by the data collected by the United Network for Organ Sharing (UNOS) .

The European Union and the United States share many of the restrictive types of rules on deceased donors. These rules place severe restrictions on cadaver donors, where the organs are given to local, regional and national citizens and little is available to international patients. Therefore, only patients with living donors can receive transplants in EU countries.

However, while we continue to believe, our select hospitals and doctors in Europe are the best in the world, acceptable hospitals are available in China, where cadaver donations of kidneys, livers, pancreas, lung and intestines are available to foreigners. Also, our hospitals in India offer significant price reductions, but cadaver donors are not available there. We are keenly aware of International law in this manner and very sensitive to ethical matters in transplant cases. To our knowledge, none of the cadaver donors in China or their families has been paid for their donation. The Chinese culture and the law that governs transplant organ donors, makes cadaver donors available to foreign patients. However, it is very important to select the right doctor and hospital in China. Just going to any hospital you find on the Internet can be a life-ending experience. Government control and inspection of hospitals in China is almost non-existent. Please go to our contact page and write us about your case, if you are interested in the China, India or Europe option.

There is no waiting list for our patients. The only delays are in making the arrangements.

Medical Note: Many doctors, particularly in Europe, will not accept tests more than 20 days, nor will they accept tests from third world countries. This is a legal as much as a medical question. Unlike the US, the European countries and China will accept alcoholic patients for transplant.

Financial Note: Transplants can vary widely in cost depending, on the country, state, hospital and doctor used. Transplants are the only procedures, where EMT may take the payment from the patient. This is because with some hospitals and doctors, EMT guarantees complete payment. It must be clearly understood that EMT is not the provider of medical care, nor is EMT contracting medical for a patient, only a facilitator of payment. This is no medical practice insurance through EMT, or guarantee of medical success. All medical malpractice claims must be pursued against the medical provider in their country.

Blood Filtering

Blood filtering , a certain specific type of plasmaphereses, greatly expands the pool of eligible donors for organ transplants, by removing the antigens, which attack foreign tissue. In the case of autoimmune disease, it can also remove the antigens (a molecule whose shape triggers the production of antibodies (immunoglobulins) that will bind to that antigen) attacking the patients own body. In transplant patients problems with rejection have also been reduced with concurrent use of splenectomies and use of immunosuppression drugs like tacrolimus, methylprednisolone, and cyclophosphamide.

Kidney Transplant

Kidney Tranplants of various types are available in Germany. All kidney Tranplants are done by university professors, who are especially trained in this area. Cost of kidney transplants in Germany for an unmatched donor is on average 65,000 EUR. Cost of kidney transplant in Germany for matched donor is on average 45,000 EUR. Kidney donors and kidney recipients are heavily screened and must appear before two review boards, a medical board and ethics board for approval. This is includes psychological tests. This process can take up to three months, but can be done in as little as three weeks. EMT takes the client through this process.

Kidney Tranplant patients sign a contract with EMT to facilitate treatment and transfer of funds. Because EMT has a contract with the hospital, EMT is financially responsible for all of their clients' expenses. Therefore, all anticipated expenses for the client in a worst case scenario must be paid in advanced into a trust account for the client. Because the client, hospital and EMT want to assure that money is not a limiting factor for success in a kidney tranplant a total of 110,000 EUR is deposited for an unmatched client (85,000 EUR for a matched donor). The remission of the remainder is given to client after treatment is completed. We regret the uncertainty about the total cost, however there are many factors about kidney tranplants, which cannot be fully determined ahead of time. We will offer a full accounting of the process at the time of completion and refund.

Blood filtering can make almost anyone an eligible donor for a kidney transplant. If you do not have a kidney donor, it is very unlikely a kidney donor can be found in western Europe. Prices and costs in Europe for a kidney transplant are 75% lower than in the US for a kidney transplant. We believe that Europe is the safest place to have a kidney transplant done.

Because of the delays and difficulties with international visas, European Medical Tourist will attempt to facilitate liver transplants only with clients, who have a donor.
